Tsassa Health Ministries

The Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church emphasizes the importance of maintaining physical and spiritual health through adherence to certain principles. While there are varying interpretations, the most commonly cited laws of health in SDA teachings are the 8 Laws of Health, also remembered by the acronym NEW START:

The 8 Laws of Health (NEW START)
1. N - Nutrition: Focus on a plant-based diet rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts, and whole grains. Avoid processed foods, excessive sugar, and animal products.
2. E - Exercise: Engage in regular moderate exercise, such as walking, cycling, or gardening, to promote physical and mental well-being.
3. W - Water: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, aiming for 7-9 glasses, and use hydrotherapy for healing.
4. S - Sunlight: Spend time outdoors to benefit from sunlight, which can boost mood and immunity. Aim for 15-45 minutes of sun exposure daily.
5. T - Temperance: Practice moderation in all aspects of life, avoiding harmful substances and excessive behaviors.
6. A - Air: Prioritize fresh air and ventilation in your home and surroundings.
7. R - Rest: Ensure adequate sleep (7-9 hours) and rest to allow your body to recover and recharge.
8. T - Trust: Cultivate trust in divine power and maintain a strong spiritual connection.

Some sources may group additional principles, such as "Purity of Life" and "Proper Dress," as part of a broader set of health laws, but NEW START is the most widely recognized framework within the SDA church.
